CAMO develops customized Pretreatment DLL for a Pharma Major

 Objective : CAMO's client- a Pharmaceutical major wanted to incorporate CAMO's library of pre-treatments into their Total Quality Management System (TQMS) software package. The client’s main objective was to develop customized software that combined the strengths of The Unscrambler® and their intrinsic software and delivered them enable with best of both, at reduced costs.

The client's need was based on the fact that they were expending huge resources and investment on R&D and data analysis, which in turn was affecting the product development life cycle, the quality of product and time-to-market. As a business and cost-cutting measure, the company wanted software that would help them,

• analyze and interpret a huge amount of multivariate and spectral data,
• enable their scientists to predict accurate results and
• accelerate production and ensure faster time-to-market

Their business objective was to develop drugs that were safe, effective and would help them win markets.

Solution: The data pre-treatment DLL provided by CAMO can be called, to ensure that the spectra is processed in an identical way to The Unscrambler® before model algorithms are processed. The technical team decided to develop the Pretreatments DLL on the Microsoft platform as it allowed for flexibility and was compatible with The Unscrambler®.

Result: The Pretreatments DLL was developed in pure ANSI C code, with wrappers in C++. The Pretreatments DLL runs on a Windows platform and supports all pretreatments supported in The Unscrambler® 9.5.

The project was delivered within the stipulated deadline. After using the software, the client has experienced a marked difference in the production process and quality of output. The R&D department has been able to interpret the same complicated data at reduced time intervals, thereby reducing their development costs and market delivery cycles.
